Locals Enthusiastically Crowd Cheap Market in Meruya Selatan

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept opens cheap market on the yard of SDN Maruya Selatan 01 Pagi, West Jakarta. This way is to lighten citizen's burden in buying cheap staple food.

We open cheap market to maintain price stability and keep food supply

Based on Beritajakarta.com, hundreds citizens are seen queuing to get cheap staple food in the market.

City Holding Cheap Market Operation

Head of Security Food, for Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept, Sri Hayati said the program is cooperation between Jakarta BUMD and PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya.

"We open cheap market to maintain price stability and keep food supply," he told, Saturday (2/20).

In the market, his dept sells rice at Rp 41,000 per kg and cooking oil Rp 6,800 per liter.

Meanwhile, Director of PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Market, Arif Prastyo Adi added the market is done because there was a request from school. It is hoped citizen could get staple food with cheap price.

"if there is another request from school side, we will hold it again," he told.

Hanni, (32), a local citizen admitted the cheap market is helpful, She hoped, the same activity could be held again in future.
